This netbook and its battery life are just as advertised if you are just surfing the net. Adding an external disk drive halves that. You need to let the battery charge up first, then completely discharge down to nothing then recharge it to get the full 9 hours out of it. The netbook is light enough to use – the keyboard takes a bit to get used to. Man the screen is small! Hitting the shift key doesn’t always work LOL. Runs better with 2 GB memory installed. I got it with Windows XP installed to save money so I could buy the extra memory and external drive. I take this to doctor’s offices while I’m waiting and love how light and portable it is. The only negative things I can say for it is that the SPEAKERS suck and are chintzy. I could barely hear any music playing. I had to connect external battery powered speakers for portability to get a good sound. Also, a negative thing is that the 3 USB ports get used up quickly by a wireless mouse and an optical drive that is external that takes up 2 ports but that is easily solved by connecting a 4 port external USB 2.0 hub to it that is portable. I use this in my bedroom most of the time for chatting, checking email and doing online banking and then for traveling or waiting in doctor’s offices. It works great with a wireless broadband USB modem for those purposes. I have a dog at home and the netbook attracts dog hairs like crazy to it for some oddball reason. The webcam takes pretty good pics – even in low light but is a cheezy looking pic. I was pleased with the overall performance and for 0 is a nice purchase. |

For several years I went from Laptop to Laptop but had similar issues. They really weren’t small enough or portable enough for my taste (and the ones that were had a much larger price tag than what I wanted). The battery life wasn’t quite up to par and I wanted to be able to use it for extended periods of time without plugging it in. Then I got this Acer Netbook and it was a lifesaver. This unit is just the right size. It’s not so big that it becomes bulky or difficult to keep on your lap but it’s not so small that you can’t see anything or utilize the keyboard. I also noticed that despite the advertised 6.5 hour battery life, I’ve been getting upwards of 8 hours out of it. I’m not a big fan of touch pads (nothing wrong with the one that’s on this unit, I just don’t like touch pads in general) so I got the Wireless Mouse M305 and now all is well. My only real complaint is that I wish I could expand the amount of RAM to 4 GB, as that would insure a very long life of usability. Obviously, netbooks aren’t made to be powerhouse computers and I use this for my writing, web content updating, and surfing. I have a USB DVD drive, and I have watched movies on it without an issue (this drains the battery a bit faster though) and any advanced computer functions that I need like video editing, I would use my desktop for anyway with the large screen. Well, after beating up a lot of matches and goals on FIFA10 I finally get PES2010 for Wii. I was surprised when I saw the price because it has a discount, I guess because World Cup season was on they give it away the game to make a hard competition against the official video game for the world cup. I have my doubts about it because I was almost convinced that this game will be like the FIFA game where you just push two buttons shake the remote and goal, wrong, this awesome game have a lot of functions and options to play, you can play with the remote on horizontal position, you cant in FIFA where you have to point vertical, and tactics and competitions on PES2010 are more like the title of the game offers, PRO. What makes me feel frustrated is that Konami cant use the real names of many clubs and players from the leagues around the world, because FIFA has that in his absolute power and gives it only to EA. If you want you can edit the teams and the names to make them more accurate to the real ones and what I always like about a soccer videogame is the option to create your own team, In my case I created my favourite team and put it to play in the Premier League… so I am happy about this, I even once made a bad move of money and the game just get finnished because I break the rules… lol. Buy it while is cheap, you will enjoy it and now I will wait to the release of PES2011. |
